Nós tivemos a sorte de participar com o Trash Hero Koh Lanta do dia de limpeza especial na bela ilha paradisíaca Koh Rok.
We were lucky enough to attend with the Koh Lanta Trash Hero from the special cleaning day on the beautiful island paradise Koh Rok.
O Trash Heroes uniu forças com a Lanta Tourism Association & Marine Park e a empresa Singhtonchai Speedboat. Juntos, 48 voluntários esforçados coletaram inacreditáveis 1,6 toneladas de lixo e 70 kg de lixo reciclável. Durante aquele dia, voluntários conseguiram limpar 150 metros da praia e do litoral de Ko Rok.
Trash Heroes joined forces together with Lanta Tourism Association & Marine park and Singhtonchai Speedboat company. Together 48 hardworking volunteers collected unbelievable 1,6 tons of rubbish and 70 kg of recyclable waste. During that one day volunteers managed to clear 150 meters of Ko Rok beach and shoreline.
Foi também um ótimo exemplo de trabalho em equipe para construir uma cadeia humana e transportar todos os resíduos não recicláveis - um total de 160 sacos de lixo - para um barco de longo curso que seguia para Koh Lanta.
It was also a great example of team work to build up a human chain and carry all the non recyclable waste - altogether 160 trash bags - into a longtailboat which headed then to Koh Lanta.
Acreditamos que, embora a grande maioria do lixo retirado da ilha seja não reciclável, a experiência e o contato com o que estamos fazendo, nos guia para uma consciência de que há algo muito estranho em ter tanto lixo onde é o lugar de conchinhas, caranguejos e belos corais.
We believe that although most of the waste from the island is non recyclable, experience and contact with what we are doing guides us to an awareness that there is something very strange about having so much garbage where the place is for shells, crabs and beautiful corals.
Foi um dia incrível nessa bela ilha com pessoas maravilhosas fazendo algo de bom para o nosso planeta. Esperamos fazer isso novamente em breve!
